FORGET IT NOT
1845. Great Yarmouth. The Circus is in town and an idiotic publicity stunt by Nelson the Clown turns into disaster. A re-telling of the suspension bridge tragedy and other strange happenings. Reflecting on how a town might heal after such this shared trauma and how to bear the weight of terrible things.
An interactive, promenade performance using visual storytelling, puppetry, song and origami rituals.
Developed in two days for SeaChange Arts Open Doors event in March 2019 and inspired by local circus heritage. The next stage will be to take it back into the rehearsal room and develop these initial ideas further. We see this as being a community show that could be site responsive to anywhere with a bridge. A story that looks at collective grief, and collective action.
