Lucy, a Therapeutic Clown working within the NHS, performer, theatre maker and Artistic Director of Hocus Pocus Theatre, along with Lalita, a seasoned performing artist and workshop facilitator, invite you to explore the beauty of the inner clown in a safe, welcoming, and joyful space. Nourishing your inner child, and empowering your imagination beyond limitation.
What to Expect:
Inclusive Play Workshop: Led by Lucy, dive into the world of the inner clown, celebrating joy, curiosity, and creativity.
Guided Visualisation and Meditation: Lalita will guide you in exercises designed to unlock your imagination and build confidence and inner sparkle preparing you and your body for magic.
Creative Expression: Reclaim the joy of play without the pressure of performance. This retreat is all about connecting with your inner child and finding wonder in every moment.
A gentle introduction to the power of play for wellbeing. Join in carefully selected games and silliness that will have you reeling with laughter, releasing endorphins and feeling the benefits of connecting with others. Lucy creates a safe space where mistakes are celebrated, and freedom is found in exploring a little clowning. Get into your body and out of your own way to discover more joy through play.

Lucy Enskat Biography
Lucy Enskat is the Artistic Director of Hocus Pocus Theatre, making playful, thought-provoking theatre of relevance since 2008. Using laughter as a tool for engagement in serious topics, shows instigate participation as co-created acts of expression and resistance.
With a Foundation in Acting from The Oxford School of Drama and a Drama Degree from the University of East Anglia Lucy has worked in a variety of settings and ways using her drama skills with people of all ages and abilities on creative projects since graduating in 2001. A multidisciplinary theatre maker she is primarily a performer but also produces, writes, directs, designs , makes puppets, costumes and set for the shows as well.
Clown training and directing has been from Complicite, Avner Eisenberg, Phillipe Gaulier, Peta Lily, Flick Ferdinando, Holly Stoppitt, Sue Morrison and Fraser Hooper who she has recently collaborated with. Learning puppetry and making has been with Dik Downey (Opposable Thumb), Mark Copeland (Insect Circus) John Roberts, Judith Hope, Green Ginger, Flabbergast Theatre and Handspring.
Alongside all this she has worked as a Therapeutic Clown in Hospitals, Children’s Hospices, Hospital wards for people with Dementia and with Refugee and Asylum Seeker Families for the last 10 years, also completing artists training with Clowns Without Borders in 2023. The healing power of humour, play and connection runs through all of Lucy’s work.

This our first Play retreat as part of a series of 3 celebrating the healing power of creative expression through Clowning, Music and Contemporary Dance with no performative outcome! Just for fun! We blend sacred play and mindfulness together to nourish our souls in a safe and welcoming space. Cultivate curiosity, creative potential and find magic that allows you to free your inner child in a non- judgemental environment.
